Mobile alarm and alert management

Mobile alarm and alert management

Mobile alarm and alert management

During a typical 12-hour shift, a nurse receives as many as 480 alerts or alarms from patients or patient monitoring devices. Some of these are critical events that require immediate action at the patient beside—literally a life-or-death situation. But the vast majority are non-critical events that can wait. And without an easy way to quickly tell the difference, every alert or alarm ends up being an interruption that takes focus away from the task at hand.

To help manage the steady stream of alerts and alarms, healthcare facilities are investigating new solutions that leverage clinical mobility to dynamically adjust the urgency and routing of alarms based on real-time patient information.
